Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 Saab 9-3 2.0T 4 Cylinder.  If the temp is 40 degrees or below in the morning, my car will not start.  It tries, but nothing.  I have replaced the coolant sensor and spark plugs.  I have had the starter looked at, and it is fine.  The battery is fully charged as well.  Ideas?

Yes you need to check the fuel pressure when the car is cold and at start up and see if it is the correct pressure ! possible fuel pump is going !

Mine had the same symptoms; it only has trouble starting when it is below 40 Degrees F. Had the fuel pump, and injectors replaced. All 4 cylinders have zero compression when the engine is cold soaked. I am able to start it using the following method, but it takes a very long time. A pre-emptive jumpstart may be necessary. Turn the ignition on. Listen for and allow the fuel pump to pressurize. Push the accelerator pedal to the floor. Start cranking. Every few seconds, pump the throttle rapidly, then return the pedal to the floor. Repeat this. Although I am uncertain, I speculate that this action puts additional fuel into the cylinders and increases the compression, eventually enough to start. I am told by a Saab Service center (45 years of experience) that the valves are not fully seating when the engine is cold soaked. So, I'm waiting for it to warm up here before taking the head off to investigate.
