removing fuel pump from tank with out special tool, 04 X Type 3.0

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm replacing the fuel pump, don't have special tool to remove lock ring on top of tank that holds fuel pump, haven't been able to get it to move with hammer and punch or strap and ratchet (oil filter wrench type) ,

And now you know why they make those special tools. They make hard jobs easy.
