2003 jaguar x type 2.5l

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just replaced the bearings that go around the
pinion shaft go into the rear wheel drive. I started
the car up backed it out of the garage drove down
the street turned around came back in the garage.
The next day I went to back out and now my car
will not go into reverse. I have the car up in the air
and when you put it in reverse when you rev the
engine the tires will very slowly move in reverse. All
fluids are correct and full. I do a lot of work on cars
but this one has me stumped right now I'm not
sure what I could have done in the process of
changing the bearings if anyone has an idea it
would be greatly appreciated. You can send a

Something may be binding up in the rear end. Good back over and carefully check the work you have done. Have you tried to place the transmission in neutral and see if you can rotate the drive shaft in both directions? Engine off of course.
