2006 lincoln zephyr yellow light wont turn off and turn signal blinks extra fast

I discovered that when I turn my car off, the yellow head light stays on and
eventually killing the car battery. A mechanic soon told me that I could just
open the black computer box and remove the green chip #40 and that would
turn everything completely off....but here's the problem, i now have to open
the hood and plug/remove the green chip whenever i want to use the car and
its a real pain in the butt. Mechanic said he can't fix the problem, it seems to
be a black box sensor thing. Is there anything i can do? thanks.

Sounds like a defective relay to the yellow headlight. Why is the headlight yellow?

Sounds like a bad ground. If you have an aftermarket stereo system check there first. It sounds crazy but the radio is tied into the headlights and parking lights circuit for illumination and dimming when you switch the headlights on. If it's not there, start checking ground connections under the hood. Hope that helps! Jim
