Did ford magic smoke come from under the hood? If you drain the oil does it look like chocolate milk? Where is the leak coming from or is that unknown? Is there white powdery stuff that smells sugary around the coolant fill tank?

White smoke came from under the hood. I have no idea where the leak is. No white powdery stuff. I did not drain the oil. Definitely smelled coolant.

Ok now white powder around coolant tank is good = not head gasket. So the next best thing is when it cools down completely... to pressure test the cooling system. I think you can rent one at oreillys.... put it to the coolant tank and pump it up.... it will cause the coolant to drip where it leaks. That and adding coolant dye are what i would do.
