is it open or closed? I could see how being stuck open could be a problem- that's a very, very nice car there- I always liked the hard top coupes best- I bet the motors for those tops are very expensive- who's your Jaguar mechanic?

In the boot there's an allen wrench to release pressure off of the convertible motor so you can open and close it without building up too much pressure. This wrench also has crank near the latch that allows you to tighten it down if you have to go manual.

The answer above is correct ...the roof can be operated manually ...but it is a royal pain & often it will NOT trigger the sensor that allows the back windows to operate ...as they operate on the same switch. It could be as simple as a fuse ...of course ...I expect you checked that. Does your pump run? If the pump runs it may only need the hydraulic oil topped off. You MUST use the approved fluid called CHF 11S. I use it in my BMW suspension control system. At the Jag or BMW dealership it cost $50. after taxes in Canada. Here is a tip ...I found the identical fluid at NAPA for $17.95. Hope this helps ...Jim
