Need a new Engine for 2007 Camry

Asked by Kevin May 09, 2020 at 06:36 PM about the 2007 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 Camry that needs a new engine.  I don't want to put the same
engine year in the Camry since I heard that Toyota had issues with engine for
that year model, maily valve and valve spring issues.  Anyone know of any
engines I can put in other than 2007.  The current one is having low to no
compression on one cylinder?  Any suggestions out there?

Valves and valve springs are relatively easy to fix. You really need the same year engine as other years may not be so easy to install. Before it is installed have a shop redo the head if this is a concern.

I'm not a mechanic but I had an 05 Camry that ran like a top, just got totalled so I'm bummed, it was a fabulous car. Ask a mechanic if that engine would fit. I only had to replace alternator and that was it except for maintenance items. Good luck
