2007 Camry - Rattling/Clicking Noise

Asked by californiaclique Nov 21, 2019 at 10:35 PM about the 2007 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car started to make a rattling noise coming from the power steering belt
area a few days ago. The car starts up fine and I have no issues driving it, but
when I accelerate I can hear the clicking noises a lot more. The car has
approximately 140k miles on it so far.

One of the things it could be is the timing chain tensioner. I have the same four-cylinder Camry and when the tensioner started to go up it would rattle on start up eventually it got worse to the point I had to replace just the tensioner which is easy to do. The part cost me about $45.
