speedometer

Asked by Kevin Aug 04, 2016 at 03:46 PM about the 1992 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado LB RWD

Question type: General

I have a 1992 Chevy 1500 5 speed manual
and the speedometer does not read
properly. When accelerating it will run up to
85 mph and stay there at speeds 55-60
mph or higher. At slower speeds it's
approximately 25-30 mph off. Any idea as
to what is causing the problem?? I've been
told either  the instrument cluster needs
replaced or the Drac module is bad? Any
help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Kevin

Sounds like your speed sensors are not reading correctly.
