What can I do to fix this problem?

Asked by Jeff Aug 13, 2021 at 06:56 PM about the 1994 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When my truck warms up it doesn't want to get up
and go the transmission shifts fine but lags getting
up to speed and the speedometer goes haywire
while trying to accelerate

Sounds like ignition coils/ coil pack. My speedometer went crazy after they put new speedometer sensor on so they took new one off and put old one back on and it went back to normal. Taking speedometer sensor off and putting it back on might fix the speedometer problem. So it could be one of the two. If I were you I would mess with sensor first before looking into coil packs.
