I have a 94 Chevy z71 and the only way to get it to drive is to start out in 1st gear then manually shift it to second and also drive but when I shift it to overdrive it does nothing acts like it's in neutral???

I think you need to take it to a tranny shop sounds like internal problems , it's 20+ years old

It doesn't have the original transmission in it. I had a brand new one put in about two years ago???

and it just started doing this ? There should have been some kind of warranty with a new tranny. , bring it back to them it could be something simple. ie. , don't have to pull it
