Asked by Narron83 Dec 20, 2015 at 03:18 PM about the 1995 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Cheyenne LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck isn't putting out enough heat. The
temperature gauge reaches 210 but still not alot of
heat. Plus the heater core isn't getting hot. What
could possibly be the problem?

CHECK THE HEATER CONTROLL VALVE and all VACUUM HOSES AND ADJUSTMENTS

Heater core might clogged. The trucks shouldn't have a heater control valve. Only a blend door. At least my 93 doesnt. Does one of the hoses get hot and the other one stay cool?

Yes Andrew one hose is hot and one is cool. When I squeezed one of the hoses it was hard like something is clogging it.

I had just my heater core flushed out with the chemicals they use and it was a lot better, but a full system flush would be good if you have never had one done. I like the idea of concentrating on the heater core flush alone. Perhaps a more powerful direct flush?
