Sorry there Auto Adrenaline, that trany will not work in the 97' because of the computers. 1995 is controlled with a OBD1 computer and the 1997 trany is controlled by a OBDII computer.

I thought the OBDII was not implemented until 1998?

1996 is when the OBDII computers were put into vehicles.

I should have known that. Just finished work on a 1995 5.0 Mustang GT that was an OBD1 car, and we have a 1996 GT in the shop that is OBDII. I should have finished my coffee before posting apparently. I apologize OP.

I've personally put a 95 4l60e into a 97 c1500 pick up. The only issue I had was the pan that goes under the torque converter had lip on it that wouldn't clear the the flywheel so I cut it off with a grinder. It shifted beautifully all the way to 120mph on a regular basis.

93-95 all have different style bell housings

@GuruCKLRS Bell housing will still fit GM only changed the bell housing when they introduced the ls and even then all they did was add the top center bolt. Im running TH400 on my 6.0.

I have a 4L60E for a 4 wheel drive , it has a removable bell housing and a 6 bolt transfer case connection. Bought it to swap mine out but was wrong , mechanic took to long and I was unable to return. If it will work for you let me know. However it is an extra cab truck.

I've got $400 in it , make an offer , was told it had 109K and was good to go , came with factory torque converter. Make sure yours has the removable bell housing and six bolt transfer case connection otherwise you'll need to replace a few parts to make it work.
