What would be the most recommended manual
transmission for my truck a 1997 Chevy C 1500

The T56 five speed is what came in the 1500's so finding a salvage yard setup or a donor truck will be easy. The last of the camaro, firebird, 90's vettes and even the 04,5,6, GTO's had them so finding a beefier unit is a snap. But for brute strength the Richmond 6 speed is the way to go.
