Changing transmissions

I want to put a  ZF eight-speed in my 2006
Jeep Wrangler rubicon unlimited without
changing the engine is this doable

I think you would need a stand alone transmission controller if you could find such a thing. Not worth it, not even close.

Hi the eight speed trans has a control module inside on the valve body and wound need to communicate with the PCM as well as with other modules...unfortunately your 2006 controllers ( modules) are not compatible also this is a drive by wire trans and does not have any shift cable and is shifted all by wire including the park rod so the shifter would need to be replaced as well ..I know that Chrysler is ease up on there sharing of engineering information and im sure that there is a company out there that is doing it you just have to find them American expedition vehicles AEV-conversions.com where putting the hemi with 8 speeds in the wranglers might want to look at what they have to offer...if not them they may be able to point you in the right direction
