1992 Caamaro Convertible

My 1992 camaro convertible top will not release at the front of where the top
folds in. There is a switch that must be there to activate something, but nothing
happens when it is shifted up. What is the problem?

There are two solenoids that hold each side of the Tonneau down. They are located behind the rear speaker panels. I have revived the ones on my '91 Trans Am by lubricating the actuator pull shafts with WD-40. Lubricate and then hit the switch 10 or 20 times to "unfreeze" the shafts. If that doesn't work you will either need to rebuild them or find an acceptable substitute because I do not believe they are available from GM or 2nd tier part suppliers. You may get lucky and find some in junk yards. All model years ( '87 to '92) will work. Good luck
