1997 Buick Lesabre won't start

My dad left the radiator cap off we drove it
about 60 miles no problem but on the way
home it quit we got it started 3 more times
but when it quit the fourth time it won't
start again it doesn't even attempt to start
just cranks what could be wrong

It seems unlikely that the radiator cap has anything to do with the starting problem. This time of year, unless you are in southern California or Florida, the weather is not warm enough for the car to overheat. Check the plug wires when you are cranking it to verify that you have spark, then squirt some gas in the intake and it will probably start. You could have any number of things that have failed, the fuel pump may have failed, the crank sensor, way too hard to diagnose long distance.

Crank sensor...if the ECM doesn't get a signal from the crank sensor it doesn't know when to fire.
