I used Nitto N3000 17's on a 1995 Chevy pickup with no rubbing, spacers, wheelwell, or body modifacations 225X55XRI7 front & 255X55XR17 rear, on nice aftermarket 17" wheels, 7-8" wide on front, 10' wide on rear. If you go bigger (18-19's) respectivlly, use 45 or 35 series tires.
