Forester XT / W blinking cruise control light and service engine light on, loss of turbo?

Cruise light blinks to get your attention and is triggered with the CEL. You have to pull the codes to find what triggered the CEL then go from there. Otherwise there is just too many possibilities to give any accurate reason why.

I took my Forester to the mechanic. He reset the "Check Engine" light and the cruise blinking has stopped and full turbo power is back. Go figure.

But ECU reset works temporarily. Within days or even hours the problem resumes.
