Bucks at 25 mph

Asked by JoshuaSharp Jan 29, 2019 at 10:47 AM about the 2007 Dodge Dakota SLT Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently replaced the crankshaft sensor,
now it won’t go over 25mph with out bucking
and shaking. It starts fine and drives fine up
to 25. I’m not getting a warning light or
anything. A couple people have said they
thought it was the catalytic converter? But it
doesn’t make much sense when it was fine
before I replaced the crankshaft sensor and
started messing up immediately after
replacing the sensor.

It is an aftermarket, it was cheaper. It said that it meets or exceeded oem quality so I didn’t think anything of it. I’ll try a genuine dodge sensor and see if that’s the problem, hopefully it’s that easy. Thank you
