What gear do I use when going up a hill?

I have a 2007 Saturn vue and when I go up
a hill it takes for ever to go up and cars
behind me get mad I don't know what gear
I use when going up hills and what gear do
I use going down hill I always see a sign
that says re Duce gear.

Tom wear can I look on my Saturn to find out if it manual? I am not sure but the gears I have are P R N D I L

How did you get a Driver's License without knowing the difference between an automatic and manual transmission?
