Won't start until second try.

Asked by Judy Mar 26, 2019 at 05:04 PM about the 2001 GMC Sonoma SL Extended Cab Short Bed 2WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Very simply won't start on first turn of key, but does click.  Second turn starts
right up. Runs fine other than that. Just had the serpentine belt changed, oil
change, just radiator flushed.  V6 Engine.  Runs great other than that one
problem.  The check engine light does come on.  Last I checked that was
due to the charcoal box system that, as far as I know, does not effect how
the vehicle runs.  Still passes MA emissions due to age of vehicle.  Recently
passed inspection and I was not told of any additional codes showing.  Live
in a cold winter climate.
