I can't get the hood open on my car when I
pull the hood release

Does the release handle feel dead or is there still resistance? If there's resistance have someone hold the release while you jolt the front of the hood down with the palms of both hands

Id stay away from white lithium or any grease for that matter, when its not in a sealed environment it will collect dust and dirt and turn into liquid sandpaper, I only use oil ATF is preffered as it's thin and and excellent penetrant
