Starting issues

I have a 2004 jaguar XJ8, Its been sitting for about
8 years but still in great condition. I put gas and a
new battery in it, but when I turn the key it trys to
start but doesn't. I was wondering if is fancy
security system would have anything to do with
that.

A car sitting that long would have electrical and rubber issues. (Hoses, gaskets and belts)

I've looked over it and nothing seems to have gone bad. I did see a post about an anti theft system though.
