I have a 1996 Chevy cavalier z24 that is making a clanking sound from the side were the.timing chain is at can you help?

To me a clank would be similar to a bell ringing, bells make a clanking sound and so could any pulley. It could be any of the pulleys or the engine itself. Sounds are always described differently by each person, knock, clank, bang, click, tick. You probably won't get a ton of help on here just a bunch of guesses. You could try to make a video and post it on YouTube. Then put a link on this page.
