My engine light comes on when the saying the car is over heating and after the car is turned off the fan continues to run. it does not do this all the time sometimes it could be weeks

coolant system. If your fan continues to run I would say because your coolant is probably low and you have a problem somewhere in the coolant system. Happened to my Jag,too. Ended up replacing the water pump,all coolant lines and tank. It's not so bad if you can work on it yourself. Hope this helps =)

i am having 2000 jag. my fan continues to run....but i carry to the shop but the guy told me that the pump is good.....the overheating light came on it......what can i do to stop stop it

You could have a leak in one of the hoses. Turn your car on & check radiator fluid level as it could be low then look under the car & look for any drips,put the heater on for this test. Hope it helps you =)
