2001 Sevana 350 van

Asked by Hanalog Jul 07, 2015 at 11:37 PM about the 2001 GMC Savana G2500 Extended

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Lost power, cutting out, nursed home.  Started briefly later but ran bad.  Changed TDC
sensor, ignition module, coil, distributer pickup, distributor three weeks old.  12v where it
is supposed to be.  But 9+V on TDC sensor where we should have 0 or 5V.  Out of ideas.
Help.

Found today that grounding the ignition module will produce a spark. And with TDC held up and running a metal object over it, the fuel pump will start. Tomorrow we plan to trace wires from sensors to computer looking for shorted or open wires. If that checks out we plan to sub another computer from a like vehicle. Hannilog.
