what makes my buick loose power for a few seconds and then power again

While I am driving the car looses power and all the lights on the dash come on
as if it had not been started.  In a very few seconds, the power kicks in again.  
It might do this many times or just a few.  Finally, it usually dies at least once
before I arrive at home.  Starts immediately so far.
Hope this makes sense.

3 simple tools should fix this, so your in luck! You will need, a cement block, boatdock, and full coverage.
