06 canyon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

was driving my canyon today, and right after I turned onto this street, my engine just died!! Was able to pull over off the road, and when I tried to restart... nothing .... did not crank at all. Message on dash said ABS FAULT BRAKE. Checked battery, and was fully charged. I have 135000 miles on it, and never have had any problems in past. Would this ABS message cause my engine to shut off?? Had to have it towed home! Could this be a recall problem?? Help!!

Thanks Mark, I will check it out. But should that have caused my engine to just die??That`s not right!! What if I was getting on the freeway, and my engine just died on me?? That probably would not turn out good for me, and the vehicle that plows into me from behind! Anyway thanks for the potential diagnosis.

I had this kind of problem a few years back with my 2004-- the ABS system was fried and put the truck into 'Limp Mode' where it won't go over 20 mph for safety reasons, or it will just stall. Had to have every abs wheel sensor replaced- $1,200 (with brake cleaning). Has not happened since then.
