Engine cut out

Asked by David May 07, 2016 at 02:53 AM about the 2007 Audi A4 2.0T quattro Sedan AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While driving my oil pressure warning
came on, then my car cut out and wouldn't
restart. Is this as simple as just topping up
the oil or will I have to get a mechanic to
look at it?

check for oil leak first.then try checking level and see where its. if light came on may be low on oil. add to proper level and try again. if you didnt hear any knocking or weird noise before it shut off you should be ok.

The are a few things you can try, however without more info it could be many things. The oil light will always light up when the engine cuts out or as you try to start it. Any more details that happen prior to cutting out. Does anyone else drive this car, have they noticed anything. Has anyone made any comments about your car that you may not thought were relevant at the time, ask around.

You have a 21st Century Audi- yes, you will need a mechanic- and a BIG bank account-

lol if he takes it to a vw/audi specialst shop it won't be a big issue. Check the oil level top it up if its low. If the problem persists it either needs a new pump or the filter sensor is faulty.
