Does you Camaro have an air dam positioned below the engine bay? They are typically 2 or three pieces of flexible rubber attached to the car's frame and helps the engine cool by channeling outside air from below the engine up past the block. Theses are important parts to keep the block temp down and get knocked off by curbs and other road hazards. Look under the car in front of the front wheels for them.

Are you losing coolant? Check the top of the engine and look for coolant pooling on the top of the intake manifold. Check the oil dipstick for white milky goop. If you see any of these things it's going to be the intake manifold gaskets. They're notorious for failure on the 3.8L V6. Also, does it heat up when idling or when driving down the road? At idle it's going to be an airflow problem, while driving down the road, a coolant circulation problem. Hope that helps! Jim

was the air bled out with the bleeder screw? be sure to open bleeders and add coolant/distilled water while running a cold or cool engine till the bleeder starts to spurt.
