Car Battery dead - do i need to reset something before jumping it?

Asked by Infoprodigy Jan 07, 2021 at 03:41 PM about the 2001 Buick Park Avenue Ultra FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 Buick Park Ave Ultra with Supercharged 6 cylinder engine
3800 - the battery went dead and when i try to jump it with a battery pack it
doesnt turn over - just dead - is there something im missing? it was running
just fine the day before. I may have not turned the key off all the way the
night before - would that drain the battery? Do i need to reset something
before i jump it now? Any help greatly appreciated - i have to take my elderly
mother to her Dr appt and get her food - i need this car running.

take the batt out and have it tested at auto zoo , make sure the terminals are tight too

Nothing to reset. If the battery is stone cold dead you might have a leave the jump pack on the battery for a few minutes before it'll crank. Then I'd drive straight to the auto parts store and buy a new battery. Hope that helps! Jim
