Question about Liens on Titles......

Asked by Guru541YH Dec 17, 2017 at 04:32 PM about the 2001 Mazda MX-5 Miata SE

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I should have made this clear in my last question.  I am buying a car remotely.
The seller lives 2500 miles away.

What is the best way to handle removing a lien against the title when I cannot
physically be there?

Private or dealer sale? There is no way I would let a private seller have the money. Perhaps you can wire the money to the lender directly.

Why buy a common car like a Miata thousands of miles away? My advice it to deal locally. Any savings would be eaten up with shipping costs plus you don't get to drive or inspect the car in person.
