They both seem expensive I bought a 2001 1800 sport in the UK c/w hard top 12 months ago with 63k miles on the clock for £2650

These two Miatas are in the price range that they are selling for in my area. In fact there are several 2001s priced higher than $10k. Dealers do not lower their prices very much. I live in southwest Florida and most of the cars are in excellent condition. They can also be enjoyed year round so the demand is high.

10k seems a lot for a 2001 MX-5....Guess they hold their value extremely well :) I'd be inclined to do a bit more shopping around to get a slightly new one, but assuming both are equal trim level, I'd ante up the extra $3k and go for the one with 49k miles. It's a great car...I love mine!

Get a CarFax report on both vehicles and see which one looks better. The one with less previous owners and more regular maintenance is the one that I would choose. But keep looking--there are many out there to choose from.
