The check engine light came on (solid, not flashing) in my 1999 Mazda MX-5 Miata. When I disconnected/reconnected the battery, it did not come back on. Is this something I should be concerned about?

I get a p0420 code. Some days it says I have a bad egr valve (which I changed) sometimes it says something about bank 1 I have had several other answers to the code
