Look at the average trade-in value of the vehicle as listed by NADAGUIDES.COM 99.9% dealers never pay more than that for a trade-in vehicle. $500 over that is a good price...I would not go higher than +1000 of average trade-in. Arm yourself with printout from NADAGUIDES and be ready for a lot of push back. Don't give in...stand your ground and a good dealership will deal in that range. Private owners are a different story...as rule, try to price below average loan value.
