My Brother and I replaced oil gasket and oil pan in a 1999 VW Jetta wihin the last three months. No Leaks..A-Ok .

she's leaking 4 quarts within a  two day span
.she up on ramps and jacks THE OIL IS NOT LEAKING FROM THE OIL
PAN  ..I discovered though when we bolted her back up, that we did not
follow a sequence while tightening..underneath carriage  has been  
covered with black and fresh oil where its leaking is a cyclinder with two
13mm boltsnext to the transmission also there is a long spindle it has fresh
oil too ...I am working on her and this is the second time ever underneath
wrenching.....

these cars have a very common leakage area. Please fill me in with what engine size this is and i can help trouble shoot the issue.

oh and what bad carz said is probably a good place to start if this car is a 2.0l engine. i am more familiar with the 2.8L and 3.0L engine but i have acting knowledge of the smaller engines as well. If the ending unit is leaking you would be best to get a new one from what i hear it is a fairly easy task to replace it. How ever if you do it your self be very careful with the unit do not twist it to the side when backing it out or putting it back in as you may damage or break the unit.
