2003 vw jetta 1.8 oil pan removal

Asked by mlmnkat Mar 19, 2016 at 04:01 PM about the 2003 Volkswagen Jetta GL 1.8T Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 2003 jetta 1.8 this oil light flashes
after running for about 10 minutes. Then it starts
making a very loud rattling sound coming from the
motor I was told it was "oil sludge" build up in the
oil pan not allowing oil to get up to the top of the
engine. I m trying to drop the oil pan but having
trouble removing the 12mm triple square bolts
does anyone have any suggestions for please and
thanks in advance

Triple square bolts? A inverted torx, you mean... You have no business performing this work if you can't get past the first fastener.
