Hello jode423-- You have got a problem indeed. Something in the electrical system is sending a wrong signal to the right place or the right signal to the wrong place. Volkswagen is having some reliability issues of late. You need a forensic-type mechanic to trace the electrical system to find out where your problem is. Good luck from Bovan.
