How to fix a brake pedal that requires three pumps to fully brake?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Any tips on how to fix a brake pedal that requires about three to five pumps
in order to bring the car to a full stop? I recently did work on my ML320
(replaced calipers, replaced flex lines, replaced leaking ABS motor) and now
the car does not immediately brake after pressing the brakes. There are no
new leaks as far as I can tell anywhere in the whole system. My only light on
the dash shows a BAS/ESP light and thats all. No codes either.

@ Brotherben: Yeah I basically bled from the calipers starting from the farthest caliper and making my way to the closest one to the ABS motor. @ G A: Perhaps? Its so weird considering that no fluid levels have dropped at all. Might be time to bite the bullet and get a full bleed kit.

@G A: when it did the bleed it was darker than the fresh liquid but it didn't seem like anything unusual.... I have a picture of the old fluid here, just be wary that that fluid came was placed in my "to be discarded" jar so it may be a tinge darker than when it came out of the calipers originally. With left being fresh and right being old fluid.

Yeah, that has already been replaced on the car. I will be giving the reverse bleeding a shot. Perhaps air got in between my ABS and master cylinder when I replaced my ABS motor. Heard that can be a pain to deal when replacing that component.
