electric seat problem

Asked by gazzphillips Feb 26, 2017 at 01:50 PM about the 1999 Mercedes-Benz CLK CLK 320 Cabriolet

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Driver seat not working. Fuses are ok. When I take main fuse out (effectively
cutting the power to the seats) then put it back in, the seat will move but when
you let go of the button, it will not work again. Its like something has "tripped"
and cutting the power, then reconnecting it, resets it somehow.

assuming only one seat button does this, I'd suspect a bad switch

So does the switch have electronics inside, or some king of 'cut- out' which resets when power turned off then on ???
