MORE info and History on the vehicle would help answer your question. HOWEVER....A battery disconnect will often result in a loss of memory in the ECU computer. a QUICK RELEARN is performed by a SCAN TOOL. A MANUAL relearn can sometimes be completed by starting the vehicle up and letting the engine idle in drive with the AC on and your foot on the brake for about 10 min.. The vehicle is then road tested. So...what's the story on this vehicle?

Yup, unhook the + battery cable for a few minutes. This will reset the ECU.
