While removing straps, there is a nut on one, and a bolt on the other. The nut broke off, but the bolt made a loud pop, now the bolt just spins but won't come out. Iv'e tried prying on it, I'm stuck!

I'm trying to remove gas tank on my 2000 Blazer, 4dr. 4wd.. while removing
straps, there is a nut and a bolt, the nut broke off, the bolt popped real loud and
now it just spins but won't come out, iv'e pried on it while turning it but it will not
come out. How do I get this thing out???

use a hack saw to cut it off,dont use anything that will cause sparks,what happened is the threads on the bolt striped out.make sure your battery is disconnedted.

Sounds logical, but I also can't figure out how I'm going to reattach this strap. Have you done this one before, because the bolt goes into the cross member, you cant see inside it. I dont want to take any chances of loosing my tank while driving down the highway.

while the gas tank is out,it will be safe to weild a new bolt in its place.their is always tricks to the trade that can be done.this is the only way it can be fixed.
