How can I change the fuel filter with a stripped nut?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I never changed a fuel filter before & I'm not
good with working on cars. I tried PB
Blaster, WD-40, penatrating oil. I used a wire
brush to get some of the rust off. I banged
the nut to maybe it would loosen the nut.
Then I used 2 wrenches, one connected to
the nut where the fuel filter is & one
connected to the fuel line that leads towards
the back of the truck. I still couldn't get it
off!! Then I used vice grips (the 1 that locks)
to see if that would work.... Nothing. Then I
tried using flare wrenches. But buy the time I
tried using those, the nut that's connected to
the fuel line was stripped. So how do I get
the nut off now it's stripped???

does your filter have 2 female tubing nuts on it ?? If the answer is yes , They sell a repair kit with the ends crimped to receive O-rings with 2 new 14 millimeter tubing nuts , If I remember right It's about 10 dollars . Then you can use a mini tubing cutter and cut the tubing to the old filter and splice it in with the new filter You might also have to buy a couple 3/8 compression fittings Good Luck

What is crimped to receive O-rings?? What is 2 new 14 millimeter tubing nuts??? What does " use a mini tubing cutter and cut the tubing to the old filter and splice it in with the new filter You might also have to buy a couple 3/8 compression fittings mean??? English please!! I don't know nothing about cars. I'm not being mean, I just don't know what any of this is? Someone told me to take the gas tank off(but not completely) to get to the end of the gas line, unhook the gas line so I have a easier way to take the fuel filter off, put water down the line to make sure there's no fuel & take a torch to the nut(I never used a torch before) to get the nut off & take the filter off. Will this work?? Or is there an easier way for 1st timers??

NO NEVER PUT A TORCH ANYWHERE AROUND A FUEL FILTER BECAUSE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF AN EXPLOSION AND THE FILTER WILL TURN INTO SHARTNEL ( MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR LIFE INSURANCE PAID UP TO DATE AN YOU MIGHT GET THE DARWIN AWARD If you take my first post copy it down and go to the parts store the counter person they can understand what I posted
