No A/C through upper vents...comes out the defroster

A/C is not coming through my vents...comes out the defroster.  Can someone please help as to what the problem might be?  Thank you!

could be a bad mode door actualor

check the vaclines under hood at firewall for splits,cracks,softness in lines,the vents are vac controlled and if 1 vac line is bad it will just work on defrose,their is also a check valve in same place that 3 vac lines hook to,is round,replace that,can get at any auto store in the help section.
