How to turn off the "Door Open" light

Does the light stay on even when the engine is completely off AND the keys out of the ignition & just sitting in the truck basically like nobody was in it? Or if you peaked in the window before unlocking it, is it on then too? Those would be the only scenarios where I would think it would put any drain on the battery - (I'm VERY far from any kind of car expert - BUT I have been known to be pretty good at draining batteries, LOL) but I would think even in that scenario it would be so little drain it would take MANY consecutive days of not being started to run the battery down. Depending on what's 'behind the scenes' of the individual indicators on your dashboard - they may all be 1 big computer like control panel (kinda doubt it with a 2006) or may have individual bulbs (which would allow you to take out just the 1). The only way to know if there's individual bulbs (without having to probably take the entire dashboard apart - NOT RECOMMENDED except by somebody who really knows what they're doing) is to go to your local auto parts store & ask them to look up if there is a replacement bulb available (their screen should show a whole dash 'break-apart' diagram) or you could Google 'dashboard schematics' for your truck, or look at a Chilton brand manual for your specific year truck - either at the parts store or your local library. I would really recommend the 1st & last options as providing the most reliable answers. Hope this helps!
