Looks like a common problem. Have you tried to use an engine stethoscope or long handle screwdriver to listen and try to isolate where the noise is coming from? Did you examine the piston wrist pins for excessive clearance when it was apart? How many miles on this engine?

What an amazing story! This wins my story of the day award- that is a lot of work to get rid of an annoying problem- which has been in old American V8s with hydraulic lifters since day one- what can you do now that you have rebuilt the whole engine? I know what I would do- get rid of that 21st Century pick up and find a '60s Chevy with a six cylinder and a carb- voila! no more ticking-

Dodge doesn't care. I have had mine fixed twice in three years and the same thing is happening again. Tick tick tick when I start it up and it goes away when warm. Dodge said I am not out of warranty. I said no, this is an ongoing issue. They said bring it in, we will fix it, you pay for it, and maybe we will reimburse you. ON AN ONGOING ISSUE!!! This is all over the internet. Was going to buy a Durango but after calling customer service multiple times, being hung up on, told I was going to be called back and nothing happens, told a supervisor will call and no one does..... What a joke. All my vehicles are Dodge and this is the treatment they give. Forget about it. Gonna have to find something else.

2017 Dodge Ram 1500 Started ticking, squeaking making noise at 23000 miles, what a freaking joke! Past warranty so I had to pay to get all pulleys replaced to no avail. Cant wait to sell this, going with Toyota next time.
