Those motors only last so long, in the bright side they are in many models . So pretty reasonable , just replace the entire cooling system and you'll get another 100k out of it

I have a 04 dodge ram 4.7 2wd and I am hearing the same noise but then goes away except mine has got a whole upgrade on having to replace the fuel tank, pump, crank and cam including power harness. Well truck starts but has a few sputters and for a second I thought I had a knocking in my engine but my computer is stating it is the crank sensor but I may have some wires incorrect.
