My truck is dyeing...

Asked by Kelley Apr 19, 2015 at 10:11 AM about the 2001 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 dodge 1500. I bought
the truck about 3 days ago. For
some reason I have to turn the key
twice. The first turn just cranks fuel
into the lines, and the second turn it
will start... When I tried driving it
today, it just cuts out. When I hit the
gas it's almost like it just shuts off...
Any ideas?

From what I understand it has a new file Pump, but I'll check the pressure to be sure. I'll keep you filled in. Thanks

So I put a little gas in my tank and it worked great! Meaning that my gas meter is wrong. Which leads me to believe the float inside tank is bad. Just took out the pump and putting a new one in know. I'll keep you updated
