Transmission shifting

My '01 dodge ram 1500 revs up but gpes like
30mph after a few tries of stomping the gas and
the high revs it kicks into higher gear and starts to
move. Is there a checklist of ideas i can start
looking at?

could be a fuel filter dirty or injecter. may also be a vehicle speed sensor. catalytic converter may be clogged. egr valve bad. vacume hose off. im fairly certain your fix lies in that list of suggestions. i would personaly suggest you get code pulled if cel is on and go from there. if i had to number these in order i would go at it i would say 1. catalytic converter. 2 fuel filter. .3 speed sensor. 4 injector. 5.egr valve. 6 vacume hose. good luck

I don't know the exact definition for the code but you could start with replacing that , I don't think it is that because of it not running right , something else is not right causing that code to come up , is there a funny smell when idling ? Go through the check list from trent
